No, Currently, the KDF Recruitment 2024/2025 application form is not out as KDF, via its official career portal, www.mod.go.ke, has yet to advertise the official key dates. The reason is simple: the last Recruitment was in 2023, which was held between August 28 and the drive closed on September 6, 2023. What does this mean for KDF Recruitment in 2024? This year, we expect KDF to follow the same route, and thus, the Recruitment process will happen in Late August and conclude in Early September. KDF Recruitment 2024 Requirments
KDF recruitment is a very serious put forward by mod.go.ke to ensure that candidates meet the standards required for military service. These criteria are designed to identify individuals with the physical fitness, academic qualifications, and moral character necessary for a career in the defense forces. Here are all KDF requirements to watch out for if you want to be part of the family:
General Conditions for Recruitment
- Be a Kenyan citizen.
- Have a valid Kenyan National Identity Card, KRA PIN Certificate, and academic certificates.
- Age brackets:
- 18-26 years for GSO Cadets and General Duty Recruits.
- At most, 30 years for Specialist Officers and Tradesmen/women.
- It is, at most, 39 years for chaplains/imams.
- No criminal record.
- Meet minimum physical requirements:
- Height: Men 1.60m (5ft 3in), Women 1.52m (5ft).
- Weight: Men 54.55 kg (120 lb), Women 50.00 kg (110 lb).
- Body Mass Index (BMI) must be below 30.
- Female candidates must not be pregnant.
- Must be medically fit and have no large/deep scars or tattoos.
- Specialist Officers and Tradesmen/women need two years of experience in their field.
Minimum Academic Qualifications
- General Service Officer (GSO) Cadets: Minimum grade of B (Plain) in KCSE with C+ in English, Mathematics, and one Science subject.
- GSO Cadet Graduate Degree Holders: Bachelor's degree and meet GSO Cadet minimum requirements.
- Specialist Officers: Similar to GSO Cadet requirements, but must also have a C+ in KCSE and be a degree holder registered with a relevant body.
- Service Members (General Duty) Recruits: Minimum grade of D (Plain) in KCSE.
- Tradesmen/women:
- Diploma: Minimum C (Plain) in KCSE.
- Certificate: Minimum D+ (Plus) in KCSE and a relevant Certificate with Government Trade Test Grade II or Craft II.
Conditions for Constables
- Be a retired KDF Service Member or a retired National Youth Service member.
- Age requirements: 30-55 years for retired KDF, 35-45 years for retired NYS.
- Possess a Discharge Certificate with a minimum rating of "Very Good" in conduct.
- Must have served nine (9) years and retired honorably from KDF.
