Smartphone for Snapdragon Insiders Is The Best Blended Result from Qualcomm With ASUS
Last March, Qualcomm launched the Snapdragon Insiders program, a worldwide community of Snapdragon fans and currently has 1.6 million members. Through the Snapdragon Insiders program, Qualcomm announced a special edition smartphone called Smartphone for Snapdragon Insiders by ASUS.
As the name implies, the device powered by Snapdragon 888 is designed, manufactured, and sold by ASUS for US$1,500 or around ksh 161,651 . The sales package includes dedicated premium TWS earphones from Master &Dynamic, a Quick Charge 5 adapter, a charging cable, and a protective case.
Furthermore, the front is displayed on a 6.78-inch screen with a resolution of 2448×1080 pixels in a ratio of 20.4:9 and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. Using AMOLED panel from Samsung with Delta-E < 1, refresh rate 144Hz, and response time 1ms. The display holds HDR10 and HDR10+ certifications, with brightness of 1,200 nits and peak brightness of up to 1,200 nits, as well as color gamut coverage of 111.23% DCI-P3, 106.87% NTSC, and 150.89% sRGB.
Back to back, this Smartphone for Snapdragon Insiders carries a triple camera configuration but all three are powerful. The main camera uses a 64MP 0.8μm 64MP 64MP sensor measuring 1/1.73 inches and is paired with a 26.6mm f1.8 lens. It also features 2×1 on-chip-lens phase detection autofocus, 4-axis optical image stabilization, and dual LED flash.
Meanwhile, a secondary camera with a 14.3 mm f2.2 ultra wide lens uses a 1.4μm 1.4μm 1/2.55-inch Sony IMX363 1.4μm sensor. Another one, a camera with an 8MP telephoto lens with 8MP resolution equipped with 4-axis optical image stabilization and able to present 3x optical zoom up to a total zoom of 12x.
Of course, the smartphone is powered by fast 5G and is available globally including the 5G Sub-6 and 5G mmWave networks, equipped with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage capacity. For audio performance, smartphones for Snapdragon Insiders are designed to be fierce competitors in the audio arena, equipped with two speakers for stereo playback and four HDR microphones with a dynamic range of 114 dB.

Thus, Smartphone for Snapdragon Insiders becomes an excellent choice for recording all kinds of content, in all kinds of scenarios, from voice recording memos, to live concerts.
The plan is that Smartphone for Snapdragon Insiders will be commercially available in certain countries in August 2021. It is not yet known about its availability in Kenya and ASUS itself is currently only focusing on working on the flagship smartphone segment, where recently they have been developing ROG Phone 5 and ZenFone 8 series gaming smartphones.
