The combination of Zeiss optics  will enhance the mobile photography experience, but to what extent? The following is a complete review of the Vivo X60 Pro. 

Position of the Vivo X60 Pro 

Before you go any further, let's know the position of Vivo X60 Pro. Vivo X60 Series 5G has many variants, but let's easily focus on the three international models. Starting from the X60 for the most basic models, the premium X60 Pro and X60 Pro+ as true flagships with Snapdragon 888 chipsets, as well as more advanced camera configurations. 

Based on their research, Vivo Kenya decided to only bring Vivo X60 and X60 Pro, priced at KES 54,590 and KSh 86,499, respectively. 
Duo Vivo X60 and X60 Pro themselves carry quite identical specifications. Both are powered by a Snapdragon 870 chipset and pack a triple camera configuration. The difference is that Vivo X60 uses a flat-screen and without a gimbal stabilization feature. 

For Vivo X60 Pro, smartphones running on Funtouch 11.1 based on Android 11 are supported by 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. With a configuration like this, it's clear that the device can run fast.
But it should be noted, in terms of chipset technology, the Snapdragon 870 step back compared to Snapdragon 888 because this SoC is made on the same basis as the Snapdragon 865 series generation, which is still built on the 7nm technology process and uses the Kryo 585 CPU based on Cortex A-77 and Adreno 650 GPU. The power bank has a capacity of 4,200 mAh with 33W fast charging technology.

Camera with Zeiss Co-engineered Imaging System

After understanding the Vivo position of the X60 Pro, you must recognize that this device is in the sweet spot where the combination of features and specifications at the pegged price feels right. However, the specifications tend to be responsible.  

Now let's discuss the camera. The three rear camera units adopt Zeiss Co-engineered Imaging System technology. The 48MP main camera uses a 1/2.0-inch Sony IMX598 sensor, blends Zeiss lenses with a focal length of 26mm, an aperture of f/1.5, and features PDAF and Gimbal Stabilization 2.0 achieved thanks to improvements in Pixel Shift Ultra HD Imaging technology and 5-Axis VIS Ultra Clear Shifting image stabilization.

As usual, using the Quad Bayer 4-in-1 method in practice, by default, the maximum output is 12MP with a large pixel of 1.6μm. AI Scene Optimization supports shooting, and Vivo has also updated the Extreme Night Vision 2.0 feature with AI Noise Reduction for low-light photos. 

Vivo X60 Pro's main camera is accompanied by two 13MP secondary cameras using the Samsung S5K3L6 image sensor. One with the classic 50mm Zeiss telephoto lens ideal for portrait photos can zoom in on images with 2x optical zoom and up to 20x digital zoom.

The other wore a 16mm 120 degree ultrawide Zeiss lens. The front camera is 32MP f/2.5 using the Samsung S5KGD1 sensor but excludes the Zeiss Co-engineered Imaging System. 

Vivo said ZEISS's co-engineered Imaging System technology could improve the sharpness and clarity of images and authentic colors. Vivo equips it with six styles in its portrait mode, including natural, Zeiss bio star, vintage film, french impressions, and flash portrait. For bokeh lovers, Zeiss bio star offers a dramatic bokeh background typical of Zeiss. 

Different styles include black &gold, blue ice, green orange, cyberpunk, blue orange, and silver orange that are ready to provide stunning night photos in night mode. In addition to style, there is also a series of filters and light effects that users can explore further.

There are four main camera modes in the camera app, including photos, videos, portraits, and night. The rest is placed in the 'more' tab, including 48MP mode, panorama, live photo, slo-mo, time-lapse, pro supporting Raw photo format, AI stickers, supermoon, doc, Astro, pro sports, and long exposure.

Vivo X60 Pro's main and secondary telephoto cameras can take 1080p and 4K resolution footage at 30/60 fps for its video recorder. In video mode, there are standard stabilization and ultra-stable options with a slight crop. 

A screen with curved sides becomes the main differentiator with the standard X60 version moving on to the design section. The quality is the same, stretching 6.56 inches with a resolution of 1080×2376 pixels in an aspect ratio of 19.8:9. It uses an AMOLED panel, supports a high refresh rate of 120Hz, and supports HDR10+. 

The body is very slim, with dimensions of 158.6×73.2×7.6 mm and a weight of 179 grams. The back uses AG glass material, with an aluminium frame, and has been protected by six front rear. To make it safer in daily use, Vivo provides a case on its sales package

The Vivo X60 Pro unit I'm holding is Midnight Black which gives a strong impression, and the rear camera module frame stands out with the Zeiss logo in the top right corner. The camera frame stands out thick enough to be 2.3 mm thick, and the main camera looks the largest to provide the gimbal system workspace.

The description 'professional photography' is attached to the top side of the smartphone body. I don't underestimate 'mobile photography.' It has also proven to be widely used by digital creators in content creation. The Vivo X60 Pro camera capabilities are also sophisticated, but the 'professional photography' label may be too heavy.

Furthermore, to the right is embedded the power and volume buttons, the opposite side is empty. The rest are on the lower side, including the SIM tray, microphone, USB Type-C port, and speakers. The SIM tray contains two nano-SIM slots and supports dual SIM features, but without microSD support. 

Conclusion
Undoubtedly, Vivo X60 Pro managed to appear as a premium flagship smartphone with exclusive features, the specifications fit perfectly, and the price is not too high. Zeiss Co-engineered Imaging System and Gimbal Stabilization 2.0 are innovative combinations that enhance the mobile photography experience in terms of the cameras
